Hi, I’m Amanda! I am the owner of Busy Bird Toys, and am passionate about owning and caring for parrots.
I’m currently a parrot Mom of two adorable boys, Cooper and Darwin. I make every bird toy in my shop by hand, one at a time, to ensure your bird’s happiness. I’ve owned birds my entire life and have a Blog on my website with lots of information to support the health and well being of your feathered companion.
When I’m not crafting bird toys, I’m playing video games, hanging out at the beach (which is just a moment’s walk from my house), online shopping, and spending time with my family.
**I want to point out that I am not an Avian Veterinarian, and any advice given on my Blog should always be first discussed with your Avian Vet. Your parrot’s health and well being should always be something you talk about first.

About the Boys
Cooper is a wild gray cockatiel who was adopted in October 2020 at 7 weeks old. Cooper talks, a lot! He currently knows about 30 words/phrases and can be seen on our Instagram page being a chatterbox. Cooper loves to sing the “Imperial March” from Star Wars, as he knows that it’s his Mom’s favorite. He whistles and sings all day long, and will flock call to me when I’ve gone too far from view. I harnessed trained him at a very young age so he could go everywhere with me. He loves the beach, hiking, parks, and road trips.
Darwin is a yellow-sided green cheek conure who was adopted in June 2021 at 5 months old. He also talks, but not as much as his big brother, Cooper. He can say about 20 phrases, which is fairly uncommon for a conure. Darwin was not tame when he was taken home, so it was a lot of work to bond with him at first. I was told that he suffered some traumatic experiences while at the breeder before he went up for adoption, and was roughly handled. This made sense that he came home in fear of human hands, which is still the case to this day. Darwin has gotten much better over time, and also goes on adventures on his harness. He loves the beach, the park, and anywhere he can climb trees. He is almost always dangling upside down on his cage and chomping on toys.
